About Us

b>side is a creative collaboration between Auckland-based photographer Tony Nyberg and graphic designer Fiona Lascelles.

b>side, the magazine, began as a street-styled title about New Zealand music. The aim has been to present in-depth stories and interviews covering a wide range of musical genres, plus stories on those whose work or interests overlap into the music field. Offering musicians a forum to meet and talk freely about their work and their lives provides the reader candid insights into the art of these influential artists and musicians and their creative process. Our fundamental aim is to share these insights with music lovers in a format rich with creative photography and design.

The website is an opportunity to expand the magazine across a wider range of subjects, within the sphere of popular culture, both locally and internationally. The original philosophy of b>side is ongoing and we will continue to provide insightful conversations and features as we have done with the magazine, only now we can get them out quicker and reach a wider audience.
